For students taking Standard I-Core:
  • ECON–E 202 Macroeconomics or ECON–S 202 (3 cr.) P: ECON-E 201or ECON-S 201. This course may be taken at any time after E201 and is required prior to graduation.  It is also required prior to participating in a summer or semester-long Kelley study abroad program.
  • BUS–J 375 Strategic Management (3 cr.) P: I-Core. A cross-functional survey of business management. This course is concerned with the roles and tasks of firm’s top managers (i.e., strategic decision makers). Designed to provide an appreciation for the total firm perspective and the means by which firms create and sustain competitive advantage in today’s increasingly challenging and complex business environment (domestic and global). Strategic management of the firm involves diagnosing the firm’s current situation and developing realistic solutions to the strategic and organizational problems that confront top managers. A desired outcome of this course is an enhanced appreciation for the complexities of managing a formal organization. The primary objective is to help develop analytical skills for identifying key strategic issues and formulating appropriate strategies given a firm’s situation.
  • BUS–L 375 Ethics and the 21st Century Business Leader (2 cr.) P or C: I-Core. The course is designed to enhance students’ awareness of the ethical dimensions of business decisions and their ability to make reasoned judgments about them. It provides students with basic tools of ethical reasoning and the opportunity to practice these skills and reflect on their responses to ethical dilemmas. Students may substitute BUS-L 376 if they are admitted to the Hutton Honors College. Students may not get credit for both L375 and L376.
For students taking Honors I-Core:
  • ECON–E 202 Macroeconomics or ECON–S 202 (3 cr.) P: ECON-E 201or ECON-S 201. This course may be taken at any time after E201 and is required prior to graduation.  It is also required prior to participating in a summer or semester-long Kelley study abroad program.
  • BUS–Z 304 Managing & Behavior in Organizations: Honors (3 cr.) P: Junior Standing and admission to the Hutton Honors College or the Business Honors Program. Integration of behavior and organizational theories. Application of concepts and theories toward improving individual, group, and organizational performance. Builds from a behavioral foundation toward an understanding of managerial processes. Students may not receive credit for both Z304 and (Z370 or Z302).
  • BUS–L 376 Ethics and the 21st Century Business Leader: Honors (2 cr.) P or C: I-Core. The course is designed to enhance students’ awareness of the ethical dimensions of business decisions and their ability to make reasoned judgments about them. It provides students with basic tools of ethical reasoning and the opportunity to practice these skills and reflect on their responses to ethical dilemmas. Students may substitute L375 for L376 but may not get credit for both L375 and L376.
